BKB Heavyweight Champion. Police Gazette Diamond Belt Holder. Humanitarian. Human.
Born in Morón, Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, Gustavo Trujillo began boxing and wrestling at just eight years old. By seventeen, he was ranked second in Cuba’s National Olympic Wrestling Program — one of the country’s most promising young athletes.
But when his political beliefs clashed with the Cuban government, Gustavo was forced to make an unthinkable choice. He fled his homeland, spending two days adrift on a raft through the deadly Mona Passage after months of evading authorities. Twelve of his companions drowned before reaching land. Against all odds, Gustavo survived — and that survival became the foundation of his fight.
Rebuilding his life from nothing in the United States, he rose to the top of two of the toughest sports in the world. Today, “The Cuban Assassin” is a BKB Heavyweight World Champion, WBO Boxing Continental Champion, and Bareknuckle Boxing Hall of Fame inductee — a global symbol of resilience, courage, and freedom.
